Okay so flowervillage's heart system is kind of brilliant so I'm gonna borrow it for my characters. This is in ~no way~ an island rp mechanic, all credit goes to them for coming up with it, so on and so forth.

: Hate, strong dislike, completely indifferent.
: Acquaintance/has met.
: Friend/talks with.
: A good friend/talks with a lot.
: BFF/kyaa crush.
: Family, dating, mutual kyaa.
: LOVE WAS MADE FOR ME AND YOUUUU

CANON RELATIONSHIPS

Freya
Sister! Freya is the one link Chii has to back home, and upon hearing the story of what went down, Chii has grown to love and respect her sister, because some bonds are ~*unbreakable*~ even in computers. Freya is next to Riku in a "what she says, goes" sort of way. Freya is who Chii goes to if she ever needs advice on anything ever. Freya is trusted unconditionally.

ISLAND RELATIONSHIPS

Riku
The person who found Chii when she first showed up and taught her nearly everything she knows. Riku is a father, brother, and friend all at once-- maybe with some obligatory Chobits someone just for meee thrown in there as well. Chii wants to know more about the world he came from, and she wants to see it someday, more than she wants to see her own world. ):

Sora
If Riku is dad, then Sora is mom. An excellent babysitter though probably not the best teacher (he tries and that's what counts!), Sora's probably on the receiving end of most of Chii's hugs. She wants to go on adventures with him! And she wants to hear all about KHtimes because there is nothing cooler than beating people up with keys.

Kairi
If Riku and Sora are dad and mom, then Kairi is... other mom! Though not as present, she still played a huge roll in teaching Chii, most likely teaching her about girly things and stuff. Chii probably bonds with her a lot when Sora and Riku are off being stupid like writing horrible fanfiction at each other-- I mean.

Flay Gunnar
Chii's sensei in JUSTICE and MORE JUSTICE and is his sidekick after Amu oh god why. Chii thinks he's the coolest thing ever.

Kallen Stadtfeld
A friend who keeps an eye out for Chii and is protective of her! Chii has known Kallen for a long time and trusts her, despite learning some bad language from her before. :(

Haruko Kamio
Fellow roommate! Haruko looks out for Chii like the rest of the KH hut does. Despite Haruko's habits, she does look out for Chii's best interests.

Lyner Barsett
Firefly buddy! Chii doesn't know much about him, but she would like to learn more.

Romanadvoratrelundar II

Ruby

Gintoki

TODAY IS DEPRESSING DRABBLE DAY

"Would you please tell Chii the way back to the hut?"

It was a strange question to ask, and she hadn't gotten a true answer out of anyone who was asked it. Chii was surrounded by sights she had been 'born' into but had never seen in her entire life, at least, thanks to the magic of resetting. Skyscrapers towered over her, and yet she was nowhere near understanding just what they were. The woman who she had asked if they were like volcanoes merely looked at her funny and walked away. It confused the persocom; normally people back home were willing to answer her questions.

The only people who seemed interested beyond mild curiosity or perhaps feeling embarrassed for her were two men outside of a travel agency. Chii had her hand pressed against the glass, focused intently on a picture of a tropical getaway. The secretary of the store had asked her if she was interested in booking a flight, but when Chii openly admitted to not knowing what money was, much less knowing anything about planes or travel, the secretary gave up on trying to talk sense to her. One of the men snickered, putting his hand on top of her head to get a close look at the metallic ears on either side of her head.

"Strange to see a malfunctioning 'com all the way out here. I've never seen one act like this--something must've really scrambled it's programming."

Chii turned around and bowed politely. "Good afternoon!" She greeted happily, as she had been taught. "Chii is lost." She pointed to the poster behind the window. "This is what Chii's home looks like, but Chii doesn't know how to get home from here. Chii woke up this morning and was gone, and couldn't find Chii's friends."

The second man chuckled, taking a long drag from his cigarette. "Really screwed up, yeah. Her owner must be around here somewhere, must've wandered off or something."

She politely shook her head. "Chii does not have an owner. Chii lives with Chii's friends, and Chii does not want to keep them waiting, either."

The first man started to walk away, pulling the other man with him. "C'mon, let's go. Last thing we need is her followin' us like a lost puppy or something." Watching as they left, Chii bowed her head once more, thanking them for their time anyway, even if she was not a puppy, and continued asking the passerby if they knew the way back home, that it was getting late and she wouldn't make it in time to feed Atashi or help with dinner or see the fireflies with Misuzu. And yet, she wouldn't get an answer.

Finally, she retreated to a park bench, thinking maybe if she waited in the same place, they would come to find her and take her home.

DRABBLE MEME DRABBLES

Here for organization!!1

Misuzu, now a young woman, brushed a strand of blonde hair out of her eyes and looked to her companion. "Isn't it nice, Chii? I mean, the sunset never stops being pretty...even after so long?"

The two of them sat on a horizontally bent palm tree that overlooked the sun setting on the ocean skyline. Riku once remarked to them that Destiny Islands once had one just like it, that him, Sora, and Kairi would watch the sun set in this exact same way. The tradition of going to that place with the fireflies had long faded mutually, but occasionally the two of them would come here and wait until the sun setting made the fireflies visible once more.

Over time, even if Chii's vocabulary had grown, she seemed to speak less and less, preferring to be the listener instead of parroting and mimicking everyone's actions as she once had. Misuzu reflected that it made her sound more and more like Freya, even if the other twin was nowhere to be found these days.

And so Chii played the role of the listener again today, as Misuzu talked about her day, about the puppies Atashi has raised, about life at the Overlord's castle where all three of them stayed. She asked Chii about what was happening in her life, but Chii didn't have much to say, aside from the fact that she was writing another book, and this one would be called "The Stars in the Mirror."

Curious, Misuzu asked if it would follow the adventures of the bunny Chii liked to write about, and Chii nodded, saying it would be her last book in the series. "Well, even so...you could write more stories, Chii. I'm sure the children at the school would love them. Maybe about a new bunny...?"

Chii didn't say anything, but merely nodded. "Maybe..."

"...! Look at the time, Chii! The sun already set a while ago...We should go back, they'll worry about us."

Shaking her head, Chii said she'd stay a little while longer, so that she can work on the last few pages of her book. A bit unwillingly, Misuzu left without her.

Chii pulled the sketchbook in her lap. The last few pages were still blank, and she wondered briefly if she would ever fill them.

++++

She doesn't notice the footsteps behind her. "Miss Chii?"

A man is looking at her innocently, a few battered books under his arm. His pocket watch clearly says that it's well past midnight, and yet she still hasn't moved from her spot. He takes a moment to notice the contrast between them--he had grown up naturally, she had stayed looking like the same young woman he met years ago. Somehow, it added a ghostly air to her, like a phantom fated to haunt the same spot for eternity.

"It's dangerous to stay alone out here, shouldn't you be heading back?"

She turns her head towards him, and he notices this time her eyes have changed. Instead of the faded browns and golds that never seemed quite clear and always a bit glassy, they were piercing hazel, like a normal human beings. And they were moist with tears. Only now does he realize the strange ears are gone, replaced with human ones.

"The island is playing a trick on me today..." Her arms are folded over herself and she's shaking. "This is the first time it's changed me like this. I feel so different...so this is what it's like."

In an instant, he shrugs his coat off and puts it around her shoulders. "Miss Chii, you're...!"

She blinks the tears out of her eyes and reaches up, touching them with pure curiousity as they run down her cheeks, as if it's a miracle it can even happen. "Alphonse, they won't stop..."

He doesn't know what to say, if this is the first time she's ever cried or felt like she's needed to, what comfort could you possibly offer? All he has for her is a hug, going 'sshhh' and telling her it will be alright. If he doesn't know what's making her cry, the least he can do is help in this way.

And they stay like that for a long time, before Chii pulls away and apologizes. Alphonse asks her why she had to cry in the first place, and Chii merely shakes her head, rubbing her eyes.

"I was...working on my book, but I couldn't figure out the ending to my story...but when I changed, all of a sudden, looking through the pages at the last few stories I wrote, it made Ch--...it made me feel like my heart hurt. And then..."

"...You've never felt that way before, have you, Chii?"

Slowly, she shakes her head. "When I was still a persocom, Freya told me we were programmed like this--that our feelings weren't real. I guess what she said was true...if this is what she meant by feeling."

"I don't believe that."

She looks up, surprised as he continues. "Just because you can't cry tears, it doesn't mean you can't feel like you need too--just because Freya said you were programmed...you're not a machine, Chii."

"...What is Chii?" Her voice cracks, slipping back into her old speech pattern.

He remembers how she introduced herself when they first met, long ago. And he can't think of a better answer. "Chii is Chii."

That night, they didn't go home. He stayed with her out on the beach as she sat down and finished the last few pages of her book.

++++

"Chii, did Riku ever teach you about paopu fruits?"

The blonde shook her head, and looked enthused when Kairi pulled out the little star-shaped fruit, but looked downcast a moment later. "Chii can't eat, though."

Kairi had forgotten, but smiles again. "Even if that's true...you know, they're more than just fruits!" She put the paopu in Chii's hand, laughing a little as she turned it over in her hand, not knowing quite what to do with it. "They've got a wonderful legend behind them!" Chii merely tilted her head, not sure what that meant, but Kairi went on, lifting the basket of paopu she collected while she was out and about.

"People who share a paopu will be linked by fate forever, destined to be together forever." Chii closes her fingers around the fruit, understanding a little bit more.

"So if Chii gives a pao-pu to someone Chii cares about, Chii will be able to be with them forever?"

Kairi brushes a strand of red hair behind her hair as they go back inside. "That's right...it's only a legend of course, but I believe it's true."

The persocom holds it close to her heart and thinks, even if she isn't able to eat it...perhaps there is already a reason to share it?

--

That evening after dinner, everyone was relaxing outside, watching the stars together until they were all too tired to stay up. Chii came out with a pie--something simple, to be sure, but she sets it out on the table and insists that everyone tries a bite. Even Freya, who can't eat, takes a slice feeding bits of it to the puppies and the chicks who live with them.

"It's good, Chii." Riku finally says, "But what's it made out of?"

She smiles widely, taking Kairi's lesson close to heart. "It's pao-pu! Because Chii ...wanted to stay with everyone forever."

++++

"Don't they make an adorable pair, Chii-chan?"

Chii looks up at just what Haruko is talking about, watching the two of them tend to the sunflowers that Misuzu had planted so long ago. Sadly, Chii doesn't have much of a concept of relationships, and Haruko may not be the best person to learn from, considering her erotic confessions corners and whatnot. Chii looks back to Haruko, wanting to know exactly what Haruko means by adorable pair.

"Ahh~ Didn't Freya teach you about this? You see, when two people love eachother--even if they're not anywhere near admitting it..."

And Haruko goes on to explain, and Chii still doesn't understand. Even Haruko's patience has to run out at some point, so she pats Chii's head and says maybe another day, Chii will know, and the older woman goes back inside.

Chii gets up from where she sits on the swing to see them laughing and smiling together, the kind that she knows Freya taught her about.

And she understands a little.

......ATTENTION PEOPLE WHO STALK THE ISLAND FLIST.

...Or you know, people I just link to this in chat. whichever.

I, Owl, am going to undergo a project! Now, since it's done for just the fun and lulz, chances are it won't go too far, but hey, I'll never know until I try. So--

I'm going to attempt a fanart100 thing! But with island, instead of normal claims. So what does that mean for you--? Probably nothing, if you don't care. BUT, if you do, I'd like your help with suggestions for stuff! <s>Using the word suggestions because request makes me feel icky.</s> Because there's no way I can do all these prompts with just my characters and...not get bored.

RULES Because there are a few.

Basically, for requesting uhhhmmm put it in this format:

Character/Pairing :: Which Prompt :: Extra?

Extra is for things like threads you want to link for reference, like a scene or something. Also, extra can count for "I'd like it to be a picture from when they were affected by such-and-such theme day" THINGS LIKE THAT. So for example

Chii+Phoenix :: Prompt 58 :: Like from this thread plz?

It's not that hard--! Also no porn or gore or vore or what the hell is wrong with you people. Keep it like... decent. Thanks :( And if someone else suggested art for a certain prompt, feel free to still request something with that one too--a big variety makes it slightly easier to choose. :>

Maybe it's something I've forgotten too?

But I'm...not sad.

I know I've been in cities far and wide...

...Chasing after that 'star'.

I remember knowing that a 'star' would make me happy.

When I came here...I didn't see my star.

They showed me many things, but none of them was my star.

I wondered why I didn't glow like them.

Why I didn't glow like everyone else here...?

But that glow was special and unique.

Even if it was not my star, the light was warm and bright.

...It's made me happy.

The happiness I feel, the memories I've made...

I feel like I have my own glow now, thanks to them.

I know that glow is just as beautiful

As any falling star.

There is no city here.

But there are people who have made something much more.

A bond...a family.

I'm glad I can be a part of it.

...And maybe, that star will fall here someday too.
